Sophie and Xavier’s move to Allauch in the Bouches du Rhône region triggered the desire to find a comprehensive ecological solution.

In 2016, they swapped an old oil-fired boiler “that consumed a lot and smelled bad” for a combined solar heating solution. The family now benefits from solar heating with 4 DualSun hybrid solar panels coupled with an ÖkoFEN wood pellet boiler.

Xavier and Sophie attach great importance to local, organic, quality products and Made In France. So to get off to a good start, this teaching couple and parents of 3 teenagers wanted a heating solution that was both ecological and comfortable.

Going 100% renewable

DualSun has teamed up with ÖkoFEN to develop the Smart XS-e Dual, a new solar and wood cogeneration system for single-family homes. It’s an ideal alliance to enable individuals to become producers of all their energy: electricity, heating and hot water.

The solar installation went very well, it was carried out by a DualSun partner installation company they found competent.

“For me, it’s inevitable to switch to renewable energies,” says Sophie, who regrets that “not much is happening in this area in France. It’s almost a taboo subject, when we say we’re concerned about these issues, or when we talk about ecology, bio, etc. That’s why it’s so important to show the public that we’re concerned. Hence the importance of setting an example! You have to use common sense and act in an ecological way, otherwise you’ll never get out of the impasse you’re in…”. A lesson for us all!
