We take you to Pourrières, in the Var department near Sainte-Victoire, to the home of Monsieur and Madame Gauci.

The Gauci’s decided to turn to solar power in the face of future electricity price rises, and they have not regretted it in the slightest.

The couple chose Dualsun hybrid panels for their home.

Solar power to anticipate rising electricity costs

The Gauci family wanted to use solar energy to reduce their electricity consumption, and anticipate the rising cost of electricity. For them, solar power is “an investment in the future”.

With this in mind, a few years ago they decided to install solar thermal panels to heat their swimming pool. A good solution, but cumbersome and unsightly. The thermal panels were perfect for heating the pool, but they were looking for an all-in-one installation to cover the entire energy needs of their home.

In 2014, the Gauci’s discovered DualSun modules at the Marseille Fair. After a few months’ consideration, an installation company suggested the solution best suited to their needs. The company recommended the installation of DualSun hybrid solar panels on their roof, to produce electricity, domestic hot water and heat their swimming pool!

This complete solar system meets the family’s domestic hot water and electricity needs all year round, and also provides optimum conditions for heating the swimming pool from May to September.

The benefits of Dualsun

The Var couple were quickly won over by the idea. First and foremost, it was safer to install the panels on the roof, especially when the region is subject to strong winds.

By opting for this solution, Mr. and Mrs. Gauci also benefited from a 30% CITE (Crédit d’Impôt pour la Transition Énergétique) tax credit.

After seeing another Dualsun installation, the Gauci’s signed up and the work began. They replaced their thermal modules with hybrid solar panels.

Features of this solar system

Mr. Gauci was previously equipped with thermal panels. To maintain and improve his comfort, he wanted to complete his installation with 2-in-1 DualSun panels. Mr. Gauci will now be able to continue producing and consuming domestic hot water, as well as heating his swimming pool and selling his electricity to the grid.

For this project, Dualsun is a 3-in-1 solar energy solution: DHW production, pool heating and electricity resale.
