Mr. and Mrs. Jotterand renovated their farmhouse in 1990 and installed photovoltaic panels. They recently built a new solar-powered swimming pool with our palisade-mounted hybrid panels to benefit from solar pool heating!

An interesting feature of this installation is that our Dualsun hybrid panels power an underfloor heating system installed at the bottom of the pool.

The hybrid system will also heat a 200L tank dedicated to the pool shower.

“In my opinion, in 20 years’ time, photovoltaic solar energy will be much more present on all houses, and it’s taking off now. Later, when everything’s done, maybe there’ll be a drop in the number of installations … for example, I’ve seen a flagrant decline in solar thermal systems. But with Dualsun, you can couple thermal with PV and still do thermal”. Mr. Jotterand, installer

Underfloor heating in the swimming pool

Jean-Pierre Jotterand is a solar panel installer in Switzerland. In addition to installing hybrid panels on his customers’ premises, he also wanted to benefit from our solar pool heating technology. The opportunity for him to become an emblematic ambassador for our brand in Switzerland.

In 2016, they became the first in the region to opt for solar energy and install a photovoltaic system. Equipped until then with a demountable pool that was beginning to age, they ended up building a new one and wanted to equip it with innovative technology to benefit from solar pool heating.

On this installation, our 2-in-1 Dualsun panels are installed in a fence against the pool. They will be used to heat the pool via an underfloor heating system installed at the bottom of the pool. The hybrid system will also heat a 200L tank dedicated to the pool shower.

Technically, Mr. Jotterand used the pool’s hillside façade to install Dualsun 2-in-1s, with an Alustand rail system. For home energy, he also has a heat pump connected to geothermal probes, an air-to-water heat pump, first-generation hybrid panels, a photovoltaic system and thermal panels, making for a very impressive installation.

Mr. Jotterand’s interest in solar energy is not only to produce energy in an environmentally-friendly way, but also to be able to show his installation to his customers. He is genuinely interested in our hybrid technology, and wants to show off the system and benefit from the cooling effect of the pool on the panels to improve their efficiency. Thus equipped, the Jotterands’ house serves as a showroom for his customers, who are happy to come and visit.
